Meet Our Team


Darin Andersen, Co Founder & CEO

Darin Andersen is a distinguished cybersecurity professional with over 15 years of experience in the security industry. In 2012, Darin founded CyberUnited, a cybersecurity consultancy that applies a behavioral psychology framework via machine learning, data, analytics and inferential algorithms to determine and prevent identity and insider threats within the enterprise, academic and government organizations. Mr. Andersen also founded CyberTECH, a global cybersecurity and IoT network ecosystem providing cybersecurity and IoT resources, strategic programs and quality thought leader IoT Forums across the nation.

Before founding CyberUnited, Darin was the GM, North America at Norman Shark, a forensics malware analytics company, recently acquired by Blue Coat Systems (acquired by Bain Capital Ventures). Prior to Norman Shark, Darin was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at ESET, an antivirus company. Darin was a leading driver in growing the company to over 800 employees worldwide and building an extensive network of malware research centers in nine countries as well as a network of partners spanning more than 180 countries.

While COO at ESET, Andersen created the “Securing Our eCity” initiative. The initiative, now an independent Foundation, was recognized by The White House as the “Best Local/Community Plan” DHS National Cybersecurity Awareness Challenge. Andersen is a distinguished Ponemon Institute Fellow. He received the Internet of Things award at the 2014 Cybersecurity Awards and was named Top Influential by The San Diego Daily Transcript for 2015.

Darin received an MBA in Finance and Operations Management and 2nd Masters in Information Systems and Operations Systems both from University of Southern California.


Steven Rahseparian, Co Founder and CTO

Steven’s experience spans 30+ years working hands on developing start up technology companies in cloud computing, telecommunications, wireless, software, security, smartphone/tablet and Internet fields.  Over the last 15 years Steven has focused on research and strategy development regarding Internet and mobile infrastructure, operating systems and software engineering specifically related to preventing and managing risks related to cyber threats.  He has founded numerous ventures and projects with globally dispersed teams involving specific application development in a diverse range of expertise covering today’s hottest technology areas.  Steven previously held director and management level positions for a former NASDAQ listed company, WinStar Communications, located in New York, NY, where he was the Director of Technology Convergence for the Advanced Technology Group and the National Supervisor of Data Services. Additionally, his career includes various management and technology leadership positions in startups located in technology centric areas such as San Jose, San Diego, Washington D.C. and New York City.


Murray Kawchuk, COO

Murray brings several decades of high technology experience to CyberUnited from the high technology, telecom and the oil and gas business. Murray directs all aspects of an organization’s operational policies, objectives, initiatives. Responsible for the attainment of short- and long-term financial and operational goals. Directs the development of the organization to ensure future growth of the business.


Stephen Bennett, Business Development Executive MENA Region

Stephen Bennett has served over 15 years in the Middle East North Africa Region, both as a Project Manager and in technical positions as well, helping to design and launch a new high tech hospital in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and Oasis Hospital in Al Ain, UAE.

He has worked with the Royal Saudi Navy of Saudi Arabia, Aramco, Saudi Arabian Airlines, as well as a technical advisor in connection with the construction of the Royal Saudi Embassy in Cairo, Egypt.

Mr. Bennett has completed training and/or obtained certifications in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker, Certified Hacker Forensics Investigator, CISSP, and Project Management Institute’s PMP.


Susan Rust, VP of Marketing

Susan Rust brings 20+ years of enterprise web development, creative design, operations, sales & marketing experience to CyberUnited. Helping companies grow from inception into fully fledged companies has always been a passion. Whether a company needs to be found, get seen or or grow sales, her marketing methodologies can help companies scale.


Mohammed “Mo” Rahseparian, VP of Operations

Mo Rahseparian is result-oriented, and dedicated serial entrepreneur with more than 20 years demonstrated success in general management within the hospitality industry. Mo has a history of providing effective leadership with focus on total organizational coordination to efficiently manage operations, provide innovative concepts, supervise high performing teams, and oversee multiple high performing businesses. He has an extensive background in accounting and P&L, with ability to control cost and positively impact the bottom line. Mo has several years of experience managing hotels and restaurants including new construction and renovation projects. He has obtained a successful track record of increasing revenue, market share and successful exits.


Victor Ricker, VP Software Engineering

Victor Ricker has worked in high tech for 35+ years as a Senior Developer and Engineer. Previously, Victor was the Lead Developer at Scott Trade. He has worked on projects such as the DoD Simulation Project and is the Co-Founder of Secured Universe.


Frederico Fuga, Engineering Lead

Frederico has 30+ years of experience working in high tech. He has worked on numerous projects including the Mars Robot Project for the Euro Space Agency.


Emory Roane, Principal Consultant, Cryptocurrencies, Cybersecurity & Privacy

A third year law student (expected graduate May 2017), a host of the legal/technology podcast “This WEEK in LAW,” a longtime bitcoin evangelist and a card-carrying geek, Emory is driven to be that rare breed: the lawyer that understands, appreciates, and embraces technology in every aspect of their practice. Fascinated by disruptive technologies, from cryptocurrencies to virtual reality, you can frequently find Emory talking someone’s ear off about the incredible potential of smart contracts or weighing the benefits of the IoT against the terrifying reality of their privacy policies.

Kiran Modak, VP of Product Development

Kiran Modak is a strong team leader and producer with over 10 years of experience in fast paced organizations, with excellent technical, marketing and sales skills, project management expertise and entrepreneurial savvy.
He possesses extensive business development and negotiating experience that has led to securing several critical key clients; the ability to create and lead outsourced web and product development teams in overseas locations that consistently delivered critical projects in a timely and cost effective manner; and excellent communication skills with the ability to conceptualize and deliver a highly efficient message that resonates with customer needs and requirements.

His past positions include VP of Strategic Development at Strix Systems, Founder and Creative Director at The Blue Mango, and consultant for Newbay Software at AT&T Wireless. He has worked with Fortune 500 clients both domestically and internationally.

Kiran holds an MBA from the prestigious Peter F. Drucker School of Management, and degrees in computer science and cost accounting from the University of Pune, India
